Adversarial Doctors

Annmarie Throckmorton, M.A.

Ask yourself why, instead of straightforward terminology such as the "patient says", doctors use phrases such as "patient claims" or "patient denies" in their notes. Doctors, in cahoots with the lawyers, have restructured medical records so that medical records are de facto legal documents, with biased legal words such as "claims" or "denies" casting a negative light on what a patient reports for their own body. This does not aid the patient in any way, but it does prepare the doctor for any potential medical malpractice lawsuits.
