Unfulfilled Childhood Dreams

Here are childhood dreams which I have finally let go of:
a house
horse
someone to love me
family
a few good friends
career
pension
health
safety
... and a few others that hurt too much to mention.
How many of us never attain these fundamental necessities and joys of life, or attained them only to lose them again? Most of us, eventually?
