Cosmetically Askew

Close-up View: One of the ways that an old person, for whom the benefit of a hand mirror is diminished by diminishing sight, knows that something is cosmetically askew, is the propensity of young people to gaze upon the defect, be it a long, stiff nose hair thrusting from a nostril, a darkened senile freckle, an unkind web of wrinkles, or whatever, beautiful youth gazes fixedly at old ugly with their mouths ajar in shock and their eyes widened in horror. Their response is as acute as if they had found something cosmetically askew upon their own young, fresh faces, which is of course what they will ultimately fear. For the elderly, the young are like dutiful hounds, ready at the hunt to put old age at bay.

Cosmic View: Life is infinite consciousness contracted to single points of awareness, you, or me, or whomever, who all at the allotted time of death, and as still singulated consciousnesses, then leave our points of life and expand back into the infinite collective consciousness with a message to tell, a lesson learned, an experience to share, work completed.
