My Clothes Corner
Annmarie Throckmorton, M.A.
The apartment which I rent in an 1800s building has two closets which are, without any exaggeration, only 2 feet deep and no wider than the span of my arms, they hold very little. (Freudian slip?) I accepted this when I moved in and I bought two clothes racks which take up half of the space in my tiny bedroom but they serve the purpose, like much of my life.
The building where I live, at 113 Winthrop Street, Augusta, Maine 04330, was built in 1838, and it served as the first home of Edward Kent, Governor of Maine (1802–1877).
