Old Cat's Lucky Day

I ran across my backyard to chase away a big, stray dog that was making a mess there. I was steaming hot with anger as I caught up with the dog, until I saw my little, old cat running beside me. From the look of my old cat, running full-out at my side toward the dog, the old cat thought that this was her lucky day to get to kill a dog. She was ready to go hysterical on that dog and dish out some lethal scratch-and-bite punishment. I had to divert and scoop up the old cat to prevent mayhem, but I was so proud of her, to be so old and yet so brave, so foolish and yet so brave. The big dog walked off pretending that it was leaving because it wanted to and not because it had been chased off. But it kept looking back over its shoulder at the old cat and the old woman who had had the nerve to run it off.
