Religious Castration

Half a century ago I wrote a paper letter to the Dalai Lama begging him to intercede and stop the cruel custom of selecting a very young boy, usually a toddler, to be the next Dalai Lama because this is a lifelong religious role that requires both forsaking any other occupation and personal celibacy.  I copied my polite and well-reasoned letter to the Catholic Pope and to other religious leaders, but received no reply, not from anyone.  And here we are again with an aged Dalai Lama who is soon to be replaced with a toddler who will have no choice in the matter.  At even the age of two the little boy who is selected will be the highest Buddhist monk, meaning that he will not have any opportunity to chose his own religion, to select a career for himself, to make love to a woman or to have a family because the position of Dalai Lama is a life-long role of celibacy.  This is disgusting child abuse and the whole world seems to think it is grand.  Who will change this?  When?

Will the Dalai Lama pass on religious castration to the next little boy-a toddler

who is appointed to be the next Dalai Lama?
