Slushy Ice Dam

This afternoon I saw from my bathroom window that a snowplow has pushed a wide, slushy ice dam against my car, looks like it is about twelve feet wide and five inches deep; I did not have the heart to go outside today. At about the same time I heard a loud bump-bang-scrape of metal on metal from the general vicinity of my car and I see that the snow on my car has been knocked down a bit.
