The Seven Archangels Of God
I created these seven archangels in the spirit of the holidays, the thanksgiving for our bounty and the veneration of the Creator God as God's Earth tilts and swings around the sun to create the seasons. Then I framed my archangels in the most beautiful way possible, just as those who worshipped before me have done in icons.
The following is randomly sourced online.
"The earliest specific Christian references to archangels are in the late 5th to early 6th century: Pseudo-Dionysius gives them as Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Camael, Jophiel, and Zadkiel."
Michael — Who is like God
Gabriel — God’s Power
Raphael — God’s Doctor
Uriel — intellectual insight, practical solutions and creative abilities, salvation
Camael — strength, courage, war, and charity
"Camael proved to be the only angel brave enough to go down to Earth and face the hordes of Iblīs, the devil, in order to bring God the materials needed to make man. For this service he was made the angel of death and given a register of all mankind." - random internet source
Jophiel — beauty and art
Zadkiel — mercy
(I did not portray the doomed Lucifer Morningstar as the whole story is too sad for today.)
Archangels are incorporeal beings, who are spiritual, perfect, created by God at the moment of creation for the purpose of being the servants, messengers, and executors of God's will. All archangel names end with "El" which signifies God.
