Zen Buddhism Vows

The Four Great Vows

Sentient beings are numberless; I vow to save them.

Delusions are inexhaustible; I vow to put an end to them.

The Dharmas are boundless; I vow to master them.

The Buddha Way is unattainable; I vow to attain it.

I practice but do I believe this? I feel as if there should be something about "unknowable" in it, maybe, I acknowledge this? Well, I will continue to meditate and see what occurs to me. I am doubtful because obviously our mental and intellectual endowments are insufficient.

I recently heard, "It is better to walk through a door than a wall." I enjoyed that thought.
